McDonald's Oldest Employee In Singapore Dies From Cancer At The Age Of 90

Goh Gwek Eng, is one of the oldest employees of the famous fast food chain McDonald's. She passed away very recently due to stage 3 stomach cancer which a very difficult condition to treat. She worked at the company for almost 20 years of service.

Singapore’s McDonald's branch hired a 90-year-old senior citizen to work at their fast food chain. Some think that it is a form of publicity for their name, but apparently, the employee had a good track record as a good worker.

A lot of her co-workers looked up at her, but sadly she passed away in a very bad condition. Madam Goh Gwek Eng passed away on Monday, January 22. Her son announced her passing in a report from The Straits Times.

At her old age of 70, she took a job at McDonald’s Bedok branch at Singapore because of boredom. For almost 20 years of service, she showed a very fruitful time with her colleagues. But in October 2017, she started having difficulties in her condition because of her serious illness. Even so, she continued working despite her illness but reduced her workload to 3 hours on weekends from a 5-day work. In January 2018, she was diagnosed with stomach cancer which caused her health to deteriorate.

Madam Goh didn’t undergo any surgical procedure or chemotherapy because the doctor advised that she may no longer bear the pain due to her old age.

According to her son, she was a very decent and thriving employee. He also told that she is an affectionate and kind person who always loved to be useful other than doing nothing.

She stayed until the very end with her three loving children, 9 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. What a loving person indeed!
